Enertis, a leading global consulting and engineering firm in the renewable energy sector and storage solutions, has reaffirmed its position as Grenergy Renovables’ main supplier of in-factory quality assurance and quality control services for solar photovoltaic modules. This is the result of a close and successful collaboration between the two companies, developed over the last few years.
Within the framework of this collaboration, Enertis has acted as technical advisor during the negotiation and closing of supply contracts, auditing factories in China and inspecting the production of more than one million modules for Grenergy Renovables’ solar photovoltaic projects located in Spain, Mexico and Chile. Most of these modules have bifacial technology, an element that demonstrates the clear commitment to sophistication and optimized performance of Grenergy Renovables’ plants.
Escuderos Photovoltaic Project, Spain
In Spain, Enertis will inspect and verify the quality of the PV equipment supplies for the Escuderos Photovoltaic Project, which will be located in the municipality of Altarejos, in the province of Cuenca, and which will be composed of four photovoltaic plants, with a total capacity of 202 MWp. The “Escuderos” project, which will require a total investment of 110 million euros, is already under construction and will be one of the largest in Spain. When it is operational, it will have an annual production of 385 GWh of clean energy that will supply electricity to more than 120,000 households.
Enertis has more than 25 GW of experience in Spain in quality control, consulting, and engineering services in more than 430 solar photovoltaic projects.
Solar photovoltaic plants under the Small Distributed Generation Means program and Quillagua Photovoltaic Solar Park, Chile
In Chile, Enertis has performed technical inspections on the modules of seven solar photovoltaic plants under the Small Distributed Generation Means program (PMGD), totaling a capacity of 66 MWp, and plans to provide the same service for more installations totaling 22 MWp of capacity during the first quarter of the year. The projects are power generation projects with surpluses of up to 9 MW that are connected to the medium-voltage grid of the distribution companies.
In addition, in 2019 Enertis was commissioned to advise and verify the quality of the bifacial photovoltaic modules of the Quillagua park, located in the Atacama Desert, in the driest inhabited core of the world, characterized by a solar resource that will provide nearly 3,000 net hours of solar radiation per year. The plant has a total installed capacity of 104 MWp and is estimated to generate more than 300 GWh of clean energy per year. Last September, this project, whose total investment surpassed USD 97 millions, completed the construction and commissioning phase and began its connection to the electricity grid.
Enertis has been present in South America since 2012 and has 22 GW of experience in the region, providing consultancy, engineering, and quality control services in different phases of solar photovoltaic projects.
San Miguel de Allende solar photovoltaic park, Mexico
In Mexico, the company has provided quality control services for the 36 MWp San Miguel de Allende solar photovoltaic plant, located in the state of Guanajuato, an area with a high solar irradiation that has a resource of more than 2,300 hours of production per year. The project, which is expected to be connected to the grid in the first quarter of 2021, is financed with USD 17.5 millions.
